Charlotte’s Web Weed Strain Review

The Charlotte’s Web weed strain is a hemp cultivar developed by Stanley Brothers from Colorado to treat seizures. The cannabis strain is high in cannabidiol (CBD) and low in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It can be classified as a Sativa-heavy strain because it has a ratio of 60% Sativa and 40% Indica (“Charlotte’s Web | Marijuana Strain Reviews”, 2020). The buds of the strain are a simple sage-green bud structure and have tightly-packed leaves. It lacks crystals on the leaves because of the low THC content.

Charlotte’s web Marijuana Strain: What is it?

Most Cannabis enthusiasts do not like it since it cannot be used for recreational purposes but only for medical purposes. It has only 1% of THC and 12% of CBD. The strain, which was initially known as Hippie’s Disappointment, was renamed Charlotte’s web in honour of an epileptic girl Charlotte Figi who used extracted cannabis oil from the strain and saw a reduction in the frequency of the seizures and their intensity. She usually experienced an average of 300 seizures per month, but after using capsules of Charlotte’s Web strain, the seizures reduced to a minimum of 4 per month, and their intensity also reduced. In the United States, it has been marketed as a dietary supplement through federal law. The strain is sold as oil, creams, and balms.

Wondering where to Buy Charlotte’s Web Weed Strain in Canada?

The Charlotte’s Web strain is available in Canada mostly through online stores such as Pacific Grass Online Dispensary and Green Society. Currently, there are no farmers who have been licensed by the Stanley Brothers to cultivate it yet. At Cannabis Ontario, we put together a list of the best cannabis stores, weed shops, marijuana clinics, and online dispensaries in Ontario Canada. This includes top-rated same day cannabis delivery in Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, and more!

Charlotte’s Web Cannabis Strain: Aroma, Flavour, and Appearance

The aroma is light and pleasant, coupled with a spicy, earthy, and piney smell, which is not very conspicuous, but it is noticeable and appreciated by the users. Charlotte’s Web marijuana strain is sweet, and it comes in lemon and citrus flavour. The flavour leaves sweet and woodsy notes to the taste buds and is completed with mild citrus, sage, and lemon. The strain offers therapeutic potential without offering any sort of high to the patients.

Charlotte’s Web Cannabis Strain: Grow Info

The Stanley Brothers breeders have held the rights of cultivation; hence Charlotte’s Web cannabis strain is not available for commercial cultivation. Hence only select individuals have access to the seeds for cultivation. However, it can be grown as medicine but as a clown. There is no availability of information on the best climates for its growth, but it is understood to thrive in both outdoor and indoor conditions. When grown outdoors, they are cultivated around late in summer, and their flowering period is understood to be around 8 to 9 weeks. The harvest is usually ready around mid-October during fall. The yield is average both indoors and outdoors, averaging at 16 ounces.

Effects of Charlotte’s Web Weed Strain

The strain lacks psychoactive effects, and therefore it will not make you feel high because it has low THC levels. However, it gives you mild relaxation and uplifts feelings more subtly. It does not alter the consumer’s mental state, and therefore it can be used for day-to-day activities. It is a medicinal strain with healing abilities, especially among epilepsy mainly due to its relaxing nature. It can be consumed at any time, but it is best consumed at night or when one intends to relax or sleep.

Medical Benefits of Charlotte’s Web Cannabis Strain

The strain is not a favourite among stoners because it does not have psychoactive effects on the users. Charlotte Figi’s case is evidence that the strain is medicinal because it could cure epilepsy. In 2018, the FDA approved Epidiolex, an oral solution derived from Charlotte’s web strain, to treat two epilepsy forms. It can be used for children over the age of two years. Due to heavy CBD concentration, Charlotte’s Web strain has been used to manage chronic pain and other pain forms in the body. It is also used to help those suffering from anxiety, stress disorders, fatigue, and depression, among other disorders, due to its uplifting nature.

Possible Side Effects of Charlotte’s Web Marijuana Strain

The low THC concentration in the strain contributes to the side effects of consuming Charlotte’s web. This is also made possible by the fact that its main consumption methods are either drank as oil or swallowed as capsules. Nevertheless, like most medicine, it has its side effects that include cottonmouth and dizziness. Cottonmouth can be prevented by consuming a lot of water to hydrate the body.
